Welcome To Beautiful Bavaro Beach

Welcome To Beautiful Bavaro Beach

Bavaro, Dominican Republic is a coastal town of only a few thousand people that lies within the province of La Altagracia, the easternmost region on the Dominican Republic. Here is where you will find turquoise waters and unending white sand beaches. Bavaro is made up of many smaller “areas” or crossroads, the major area being named Friusa. Bavaro began as a support community of sorts for many of the resorts that began to build in the area the first being Barcelo. Since then there have been many great resorts to come into the area spawning more and more growth and development. Currently the area is unrecognizable to what was here five years ago.

Today, Bavaro offers many great dining, entertainments, and shopping options for the traveler or transient not staying in one of the all-inclusive resorts.

With the influx of many foreigners from various countries around the world, Bavaro has by default “diversified” and offered dining and restaurant options for nearly every palette. Here you will find everything from Thai Fusion to Arabic, and Russian, to Italian and there is also something for nearly any budget. Just in the Bavaro beach area, one can easily walk to more than a dozen different types of restaurants.

Entertainment is something that will never hide from you here in Bavaro. There are two casinos nearby that are open to the public as well as the new Hard Rock Casino just a short drive away. You can book a tee time and Cocotal Golf Course that is in the or enjoy yourself late after hours at many of the great disco and dance clubs in the area.

As with any beach community, the fun isn’t limited to these activities. On the beach you’ll find everything from snorkeling and scuba diving, to horseback riding and kite surfing. There are many excursions and adventures one can take advantage of during their stay here in Bavaro, many of which are simply a phone call away.

Bavaro offers many shopping centers, the most notable of which is Palma Real Shopping village, located directly across from Cocotal Golf Course and is adjoining the Paradisus Palma Real Resort. Palma Real is where you will find Palacio del Cine, the local 3 screen movie theatre. You can catch some “almost current” movies here in what in our opinion is a very well done movie cinema. Palma Real iis home to Tony Roma’s American dining, Hard Rock Cafe, Bon Ice Cream, and many name brand stores and local boutique shops. Off the beaten path one will come across many, many tourist shops. Here you’ll surely be able to pick up that “perfect” souvenir to bring back home. There is an abundance of local craftsmen here, so despite their “not so great” sales skills, it is worth spending a half a day or so walking the local shops near Friusa.
